Unbeaten Run Continues For City's Women With Charlton Draw
Following Thursday's excellent Women's FA Cup victory over Women's Super League outfit Reading, optimism was high for the Foxes as they returned to Championship action.
A muted first half paid witness to few clear-cut opportunities, with Jenna Legg seeing an effort scrambled off the line for the visiting Addicks in Quorn.
However, it was a different story after the interval, with Charlton taking a surprise lead through Lily Woodham, although Paige Bailey-Gayle levelled the score swiftly.
When Charlie Devlin converted a penalty for the home side in the 54th minute, meanwhile, it seemed as though Leicester would stretch their winning run to four games.
Four minutes later, though, the scoring continued and the visitors were level once again as Charley Clifford sent a powerful effort past Demi Lambourne from 12 yards.
As a result, the Foxes remain sixth in the FA Women's Championship, level on 15 points with Lewes, ahead of a trip to face Coventry United on Sunday 22 March (2pm GMT kick-off).
