Harvey Barnes says the team have trained well in preparation for Friday's game at Carrow Road.

Harvey Barnes said: “We’ll be looking to go there [to Norwich], get a good result and performances will follow that. The game didn’t quite go to plan result-wise on Saturday but we’re full of confidence going into this one after a good week’s training, so we’re looking forward to it.”

City's attacking players have been given the freedom to express themselves this season.

Matt Elliott said: “It’s not just the league position itself, it’s the football that’s being played. The standard being produced is exceptional and it must be a joy to be involved in. The play is very structured, up to a point and then it’s ‘go on lads, do what you do’ and everyone is given a licence.”

The Foxes drew 1-1 with Norwich in the reverse fixture at King Power Stadium.

Harvey Barnes said: “We’re very pleased with how it’s gone so far. We’ve got that last push now. We’re in a great position, we’ve played some really good football and we’ve done exactly what we wanted to do. It’s going to be important with the position we’re in at the minute and the games that we’ve got left. Obviously, we want to get as many points from those as possible and that’s starting on Friday night.”

Matt Elliott said: “I see the fear in the opposition full-backs’ eyes, I’m seeing it more and more regularly these days. I love it when you just test them one-on-one, it’s almost old school... let’s see if you can handle me. It’s pace, power and precision and you can conjure up different ways of playing.”

More to come

The 22-year-old was on the scoresheet at Turf Moor in January - one of four goals in 2020.

Harvey Barnes said: “There’s been an improvement on last season. I feel like goals and assists will come. I’m still very young, I’m learning a lot in the game, the manager has been helping me with that. There’s still a lot tactically that I can learn and I’ve still got more developing to do. It’s been a good season so far but there’s still a lot to come. Every time I go on the pitch I want to score goals. Since the turn of the year they’ve started to go in and hopefully that can continue.”

Preparations are almost complete for Friday's trip to Carrow Road.

Matt Elliott said: “They’ve been exceptional, particularly in the first-half. The lads are more than capable of finishing really strongly, but it’s the level of performance more than anything. People were talking about putting pressure on the top six - they’ve exceeded that and I think they will continue to do so.”
