Tee made an instant impact off the bench, scoring with virtually his first touch, in stoppage time, to ensure Leicester came out on top against the Saints.

The 19-year-old netted his first league goal after strikes from Callum Wright and George Hirst, from the penalty spot, had City in front at the break.

The result keeps Leicester second in the Premier League 2 Division 1 table, three points behind Chelsea with four games remaining.

“I just came on to help the team, make sure we stay in a good shape, make sure I concentrate when I came on,” Tee told LCFC TV post-match.

Extended highlights from Staplewood Training Ground as Leicester City's Development Squad emerged with a 3-1 win at Southampton.

“Luckily the ball’s fell into the box and I’ve reacted quickly to then take a touch inside and finish it off, so it’s really pleasing.

As I’ve gone into the box, I’ve felt a nudge off the player, so I’m off balance and I just used that to put it the other side, so that’s how I’ve caught the ‘keeper off guard.”

Tee has had to bide his time, partly due to the form of top scorer Hirst, so he was naturally delighted to get on the pitch and contribute to a vital victory.

He added: “I’ve had to be patient and wait for my opportunity and tonight I’ve took it and I’m glad to help the team to another win.

It’s a really good group of lads and we’re all enjoying it right now and just looking forward to the next few games

“He [Hirst] is a big player in our group and he’s held the ball up well again today, especially in the last 20 minutes or so.

“We just need to get the ball up to him for him to get some free-kicks and stuff, it always helps the team to settle it down a bit and of course he scored again, so it’s a great impact from him.

“It’s a really good group of lads and we’re all enjoying it right now and just looking forward to the next few games and hopefully we can carry on winning and see where it takes us at the end of the season.

“We’re just going to keep doing what we’re doing and that’s playing the way we do and I’m sure the results will keep on coming.”
