Leicester City Statement: Coronavirus
While current guidance means that Leicester City’s locations are still open for business, the Football Club urges all supporters and staff to take personal responsibility for following the improved hygiene procedures that can help stop the spread of the virus.
Temporary measures include:
- Senior staff meeting at regular intervals to ensure operational readiness, agile to the latest advice from the government and the game’s governing bodies
- Encouragement of good hand hygiene, regular washing with soap and water, the increased installation of hand sanitisers throughout our sites and issuing of sanitising products to all staff
- Enhanced cleaning routines throughout facilities at King Power Stadium and Belvoir Drive, focusing particularly on frequent physical touchpoints, desks, devices and kitchens
- Restrictions placed on work-related international travel
- Restricting non-essential internal and external meetings across all sites and reducing non-essential travel by encouraging video/conference calls where possible
- Reducing risks from external visitors through a self-certification process
- The postponement of all player appearances
- Restricting players signing autographs and posing for photographs at both King Power Stadium and Belvoir Drive
For supporters attending fixtures at King Power Stadium, there are now additional hand sanitising stations as well as government guidance displays around the ground, which will be updated in line with the latest advice.
The Football Club has also begun issuing online questionnaires for non-matchday visitors to any of its locations to help protect the wellbeing of all staff and will be assessing the situation regularly with the relevant authorities.
Supporters are asked to actively seek out the latest government advice on best practice in relation to stopping the spread of the virus, which can be found here.
Anyone who has recently travelled to the United Kingdom from a country with a high risk of coronavirus should immediately seek medical advice by calling the NHS 111 service, while anyone with flu symptoms are asked to stay away from King Power Stadium to avoid a potential spread to other supporters.
The Football Club thanks its supporters for their understanding and apologises for any inconvenience caused by these necessary temporary measures.
