The Club’s first team stars have been providing regular updates of their daily schedules after the Premier League’s fixtures were suspended.

Morgan, 36, was the latest Fox to speak to LCFC TV, following recent catch-ups with Marc Albrighton, Hamza Choudhury, Christian Fuchs, Ricardo Pereira and Brendan Rodgers.

“It’s obviously very difficult when you’re limited to what you can do, but you’ve just got to make the most of what you can do, and make the best out of not a good situation,” he said.

“You obviously have to follow the Government guidelines to the letter. I’ve been going out when I get a chance to do my exercise.

“We get a programme from Leicester, which keeps us fit and keeps us ready to return back to action at any point, really, so that’s a bit of a daily programme that we have to stick to.

“Obviously, we’re monitored with that as well, so that’s the exercise and fitness side of things done.

There’s various things where we’re still in contact together, but it’s not quite the same as seeing them and giving them a hug and a cuddle and things like that.

“Besides that, I’m trying to brush up on my cooking skills a little bit and watching boxsets, I suppose. That’s probably the bulk of my time.”

Morgan says he has been in regular contact with his team-mates over the last few weeks as they maintain their tight-knit relationships while they remain apart.

He continued: “When there’s a short period of time off, you look forward to it, you plan to do things and you go out, but obviously under these circumstances you can’t do much at all.

“It gets to the point where you start missing the boys. Funnily enough, I’m missing playing football and missing the banter and everything that comes around being involved in a football team.

Wes Morgan lifts the Premier League trophy

Morgan lifts the Premier League trophy to the heavens in 2016.

“It’s not been easy. We can stay in contact via messages and video messaging, and things like that. There’s various things where we’re still in contact together, but it’s not quite the same as seeing them and giving them a hug and a cuddle and things like that.”

There have been several milestones in the Club’s recent history that have been marked on social media and LCFC.com in recent weeks, including City’s UEFA Champions League campaign in 2016/17 and their path en route to Premier League glory.

“It’s that time of the year where you’ll see a lot of reminders on social media about that amazing day,” he said of lifting the Premier League title. “I always enjoy reminiscing about them times and things like that.

“Looking back, it just emphasises how big of an achievement what we did was. It was an incredible time and it’s something that we’ll never forget. The party at Jamie Vardy’s was amazing also. I think everyone saw the celebrations and they went on into the night as well.

“Everyone just lost their minds. Obviously, we did it, then we went crazy, but you can’t blame us for that!

“The game before was the game at Man Utd away and we got a point there, which obviously proved to be a vital point in the end, and there’s ways to win it, I suppose, but you win it any way you can.

“I’m sure that if we didn’t win it on that night, it would have been the next game we played, so fate dictated that, but it never took the shine off how special it was anyway. It was a great result for us.”

We almost got relegated the season before and we did the Great Escape. It’s a completely amazing story, from where we came from to where we ended up and what we achieved.

Morgan, having also won the Championship with the Foxes two years prior, became the first City ever to the lift the Premier League trophy aloft, and is immensely proud to be part of the Football Club’s history.

“Personally, it’s probably something that I never thought I would achieve in my footballing career,” he continued. “The Premier League is the pinnacle of football. The very best players or clubs win the Premier League in that season.

“To be a part of that, to be a part of a special group of players that we had at that time was amazing. Everyone’s heard about the underdog story and the 5000/1 odds, and everything that goes with it.

“We almost got relegated the season before and we did the Great Escape. It’s a completely amazing story, from where we came from to where we ended up and what we achieved.

“There were a couple of key things, fun things that happened, the Captain Morgan rum bottle, and little things like that makes it extra-special.

City Beat Sevilla In Filbert Way Classic

Wes Morgan and Marc Albrighton got the goals as Leicester City defeated FC Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League on 14 March, 2017.

“Obviously, the recognition everyone gets from being a champion and winning the league, it’s amazing and the four years from that point to now, there’s been ups and downs, tragedies and good moments in the Champions League.

“There’s been ups and downs, but I think we all can look back at that special moment and take joy from it.”

His role in City’s last European adventure was a weighty one. He scored an all-important goal against Sevilla in the last-16 to help them into the quarter-finals, and played in nine out of their 10 matches.

“I’m used to probably going to my friend’s house and watching the Champions League on the TV with them,” he said. “When the music comes on, you get chills, and everyone knows it’s a Champions League night.

“To be involved in it, and to be playing in it and actually be present on the pitch when you hear the music, I can’t say enough how amazing that feeling is.

Exchanging pleasantries with Antoine Griezmann before facing Atlético Madrid.

“Playing in Europe and going to different places and playing against different teams with different cultures and styles, it’s fantastic and hopefully Leicester can get to those European days at some point in the near future, and we can do it all again.”

As the country continues to tackle to COVID-19 pandemic, Morgan was the latest City player to underline the need for everyone to adhere to the Government’s guidelines.

“It’s very important,” said Morgan. “The NHS has got a lot on their plates. They’re working so hard, they’re saving lives and we can help them out by staying at home.

“That’s the message that everyone’s been told to do. We don’t want to put anymore added pressure onto the NHS and they’re doing a fantastic job at the moment, which is great, but we can play our part and just stay at home. Hopefully, we can get through this altogether.”
