The Club’s Community programme are looking for people to celebrate their Outdoor Learning Week taking place from Monday 25 May.
Three activities will be shared each weekday from 10am, 3pm and 6pm, all of which inspires young people to engage with the outdoors, while continuing to adhere to social distancing.
Each morning, children will have the chance to get hands on with their outside environment with physical outdoor learning challenges.
At 3pm, in line with The National Forest’s Walking Library For Forest Walks, staff will share the book they will put forward, while getting youngsters to think about what book you could read.
At 6pm, meanwhile, staff will be on hand to read short books to help children ease into the evening.
Leicester City in the Community Outdoor Learning Coach, Sheila Capper, highlighted how learning in an outdoor setting could be hugely beneficial in the current situation.
“We are having an outdoor learning week to inspire children to notice the beauty of the natural world and all its benefits,” she said.
“Evidence suggests that children learn better and have more fun when they spend time outdoors connecting with their environment.”
Make sure you stay tuned with the fun and engaging activities throughout the week via Leicester City in the Community's social media channels.
