The Foxes face Mikel Arteta's men at Emirates Stadium in an 8:15pm kick-off in the capital following a 3-0 home triumph over Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

Rodgers' men remain third in the Premier League standings, but they could be without Chilwell (foot) and Maddison (hip) for their 34th fixture of the 2019/20 top-flight campaign.

Chilwell was withdrawn at the break in Saturday's clash with the Eagles, while Maddison sat the fixture out, after aggravating a hip injury against Everton on the preceding Wednesday evening.

Academy graduate Chilwell sustained his injury during the 3-0 win against Crystal Palace and was substituted at the interval.

"We’ve got doubts over James Maddison and Ben Chilwell," Rodgers confirmed on Monday morning. "They’re the two that could struggle, but we’ll see how that is today.

"We just have to wait and see. There’s big doubts over both. It’s the bottom of Ben’s foot which is giving him pain so we’ll just have assess that and see what the specialists say.

"You can play through it, but you have to manage that. They’ll both be big doubts ahead of the game. We’ll give them every chance."

Rodgers also elaborated on the importance of City's victory on Saturday in the context of their bid to achieve their objectives in the Premier League this term.

We knew we had to improve, but the confidence it gives you is huge. You like to see the players smiling and when you're not winning, it can be difficult.

"It was important, but it always has to be about performance," the Northern Irishman continued. "We've been down on our luck lately and I felt the win was coming.

"We knew we had to improve, but the confidence it gives you is huge. You like to see the players smiling and when you're not winning, it can be difficult.

"The players fought for every ball and, eventually, got that little bit of luck as well."
