Leicester City in the Community Resource Aids Home Schooling

- Leicester City in the Community’s Tour de Stadiums workbook has helped one student adapt to a new school-from-home routine
- Tour de Stadiums was a free online resource booklet created by the Premier League Primary Stars team
- Each day, there were four activities, ranging from maths challenges to outdoor crafting, with miles being earned towards reaching each Premier League stadium

Tour de Stadiums is a free online resource book devised by Leicester City in the Community's Premier League Primary Stars team for pupils to use to support their home learning, while school sites had limited access.

School pupil, Dominic, and mother, Sophie Clarke, had struggled to adapt around the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) guidelines, until they came across the workbook.

“It was hard at the beginning of lockdown,” Sophie said. “Working out what to do and having to try new things and learn in a different way.

“Finding the Leicester City in the Community packs was brilliant, it provided us with something friendly, fun and reliable that came each day. Tour de Stadiums made us feel like we had done good and interesting work.” 

Each day, there were four activities being made available, ranging from story writing to physical ball work and, for Sophie, seeing her son get heavily involved with the resources brought the family closer together. 

“Dominic really liked he lunchtime activities that were more active, so it was nice to get involved together,” she said. “We really looked forward to the afternoon activities, often if we were feeling a bit stressed, something really nice turned up.

“The sci-dance gave us a real giggle quite often, I wanted to say a really big thank you Leicester City in the Community!”

The Premier League Primary Stars team are recruiting additional mainstream and SEND primary schools to the programme ahead of the new academic year.
