Defender Benković, 23, made his third appearance since English football's restart in a 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough for the Robins at Riverside Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Croatia Under-21s international started the clash in the North East as Nahki Wells netted a brace and Jamie Paterson got another before Britt Assombalonga's consolation strike.
Bristol City's 17th win of the season leaves them in 11th place in the Championship standings, just three points adrift of the play-off positions, with three games still to play.
