Under the management of Chris Wilder, the Blades have consistently challenged in the upper reaches of the top flight standings, registering 54 points from their 35 matches so far.

Iheanacho, 23, believes Sheffield United will pose a stern challenge for the Foxes at King Power Stadium on Thursday (6pm kick-off) and commended them for their performance this season.

"They’ve done very well," he said. "I think that the manager (Chris Wilder) has done a great job there. It’s not easy coming up from the Championship and be in the position they are.

It’s been great seeing the level of support we’ve been receiving from people’s homes.

"They’re in a great position and should be very proud. They’ve got some good players and we know it won’t be an easy game for us. As I say, we just need to focus on what we can do."

The Nigeria international hopes Leicester can recover from Sunday's frustrating result at AFC Bournemouth with a win to reward the Blue Army for their support from home.

"It’s been great seeing the level of support we’ve been receiving from people’s homes," he added, in an interview which will be available in the digital CITY Matchday Magazine on Thursday.

"I know they’re not in the stadium, but you look at the way in which they have decorated their homes and it looks as though they could be in the stadium.

"When the game starts, we can see them on the screens in the stadium and that makes us happy. Hopefully, they will be back with us soon, but we really appreciate the support from home.

"We’ll do our best to make them proud."
