The Foxes entertain Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at King Power Stadium on Sunday (4pm kick-off), with a place in the Premier League's top four up for grabs.

While Leicester will continue to be without the likes of Ben Chilwell, Çağlar Söyüncü, James Maddison and long-term absentee Ricardo Pereira, Rodgers confirmed that winger Marc Albrighton is in contention for a return, after the injury picked up against AFC Bournemouth forced him to miss the Foxes' last two games.

Speaking to the national and international media, the City manager reported a clean bill of health among the rest of the squad, as they continue to prepare for this weekend's crunch clash.

"In terms of injuries, there’s nothing new,” Rodgers said in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon. “So, we’ll be ready for the game on Sunday.

City winger Albrighton was forced off in the 16th minute at Bournemouth on 12 July.

“He [Albrighton] will have a final fitness test tomorrow, but he should be okay. We’ve had a really good week, we rested for a few days after the Tottenham game, which I think we needed, and then we had a really good week’s training.

“It was probably our first free week really since the period that we’ve come back, to do the work that we wanted to do and we arrive into the game fresh and ready to give everything.”

The Northern Irishman also admitted it has been a welcome change to have a full week to recover from the last fixture, a defeat at Tottenham Hotspur, and prepare for the final game of the 2019/20 campaign.

I’m happy that we can recover well, put a plan in place and a strategy in place and then be as fresh as we possibly can be for the game.

Rodgers added: “I know that after our game [against Tottenham], I felt we were tired and leggy in that game. We had a great performance against Sheffield United on the Thursday and the turnaround in the game, I felt watching us, even though there were parts of the game we did well in, we got done on three counter attacks.

“I actually felt we were maybe a little bit leggy. But I’m happy that we can recover well, put a plan in place and a strategy in place and then be as fresh as we possibly can be for the game.”
