Health and Wellbeing Coach

Following the launch of an exciting new project, Leicester City in the Community has a fantastic opportunity for a Health and Wellbeing Coach to join our dynamic team.

About The Role 

The newly-formed Match Fit project aims to work with partner organisations to deliver shared objectives around increasing physical and wellbeing levels among the most inactive residents of Leicester and Leicestershire, focusing on adults. 

Working as a Health and Wellbeing Coach, you will deliver a wide range of wellbeing initiatives and projects with the main objective being to increase physical and wellbeing levels amongst the residents of Leicester.

You will be creative in your approach, take time to understand your audience and have a passion for helping the local community become fitter and healthier, both physically and mentally.

You will be organising and delivering on a range of different initiatives, such as walking and running groups, social football, wellbeing workshops and other health interventions. You will therefore need to be flexible in your approach to finding creative solutions, inspiring people to make changes to their lifestyle and improve and maintain their fitness levels.

Key duties of the role are:

  • Ensure all delivery of ‘health and wellbeing’ programmes complement and add to Leicester City in the Community’s 2019-2023 strategy and underpinning business plan
  • Maintain partnerships with key organisations in Leicester and Leicestershire to assist with gaining insight and responding to need
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues and community organisations to achieve project KPI’s
  • Support the evaluation and impact measures associated with the delivery of Match Fit, project, and ensure adhere to system in place to record physical activity and wellbeing levels

Skills required for success:

  • Hold relevant professional qualifications in physical activity and wellbeing or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Experience of working in community settings
  • Experience of delivering physical activity interventions to engage inactive adults using sport
  • Excellent communicator, and ability to build up relationships with participants
  • Ability to work on own initiative and lead and supervise a small team
  • Must satisfy relevant pre-employment checks including enhanced DBS check

Contract Type – 12-month fixed-term contract
Hours Per Week
– 37.5, you may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.

Location – LCitC is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions with take part at partner locations, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood. You may need to travel to multiple sites within one day.
