Youth Engagement Coach (Youth Power)

Leicester City in the Community has a fantastic opportunity for a Youth Engagement Coach (Youth Power) to join our dynamic team.

About The Role 

Funded by Premier League Community Fund and Professional Footballers Association, Youth Power is developed in partnership with the Leicester City Council Youth Service and Young Leicestershire.

The project aims to provide safe spaces and positive engagement opportunities for young people via providing a range of activities. Including; sports, cooking, film study, tabletop sports, various tournaments, trips, as well as additional and targeted support as needed.

Key duties of the role are:

  • To engage, inspire and empower young people to reach their full potential
  • To deliver high-quality sessions that engage, enthuse and progress young people
  • To support the development and delivery of high-quality, impactful sport and/or youth engagement sessions in areas of high need across the city and county
  • To lead on and/or support sessions for a minimum of three evenings per week and at weekends

Who We’re Looking For

Skills required for success:

  • Hold relevant professional qualifications in Sports Coaching or Level 2 Youth Work.
  • Relevant experience of engaging with young people in a community setting
  • A track record of engaging participants from hard to reach backgrounds and underrepresented groups.
  • Knowledge and understanding of young people and the challenges that they face
  • Experience of planning and delivering youth engagement activity sessions in a community environment
  • Must satisfy relevant pre-employment checks including enhanced DBS check 

Contract Type – 12 month fixed term contract
Hours Per Week
– 20, You may be required to work outside of normal office hours, at evenings and weekends.

Location – LCitC is based at King Power Stadium, Leicester. The delivery of sessions with take part at partner locations, therefore you will need the ability to travel across multiple sites across Leicester and Charnwood. You may need to travel to multiple sites within one day.
