Under-18s Beaten By Chelsea In PL U18

Leicester City Under-18s were defeated 8-1 by Chelsea Under-18s in Saturday's Premier League U18 South fixture at Cobham Training Centre.

Following last weekend's reverse at Brighton & Hove Albion, City were on their travels again, coming up against fourth-placed Chelsea.

The Foxes faced an uphill task from the seventh minute when Jude Soonsup-Bell opened his account for the hosts.

Silko Thomas doubled Chelsea's advantage with a quarter of an hour on the clock before Joe Haigh made it three on 34 minutes.

City pulled a goal back five minutes ahead of the break, as midfielder Brandon Cover got himself on the end of Will Russ' centre.

However, the momentum swiftly shifted back in the hosts' favour and Soonsup-Bell converted again just two minutes later.

Chelsea would score another four goals in the second period. Firstly Soonsup-Bell completed his hat-trick, before Benjamin Elliott converted the first of two penalties within eight minutes.

The ball was then handed over to Harvey Vale, who also found the net from 12 yards on the hour mark.

Soonsup-Bell scored his fourth, and Chelsea's eighth, late on to complete a comprehensive result for the home side and leave Leicester 13th in the early U18 Premier League South standings.

Next up, after the international break, the young Foxes host West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 21 November, in an 11am GMT kick-off.
