The Premier League 2 contest was level at 1-1 and very much in the balance at the break, but a stunning second half display from the Foxes ensured they convincingly took home all three points from Hotspur Way.

Beaglehole felt the tactical changes made a difference, while also crediting the work rate and will to win on show from the group down south.

"We're delighted with the performance overall," City's Senior Professional Development Phase Coach commented in his post-match interview. "It's what I'd like to think is a typical Leicester performance.

"We showed a lot of desire, I said to the lads, we've always had the edge on Tottenham in terms of strength and, possibly, we have been a little bit older at times.

We changed it around at half-time, we were pretty brave. We made two substitutions, we changed the shape to a three at the back and I thought we were excellent.

"But they've always had the technical advantage and I thought today it was one example of how we still were stronger physically and we wanted it more in the second half, but we also showed technical ability and players that could play."

Four second half goals from Admiral Muskwe, substitute Jake Wakeling and Callum Wright's brace wrapped up the win in north London, after Layton Ndukwu's opener had given the visitors an early lead.

Beaglehole was also pleased with the defensive display, keeping a second-half clean sheet while being clinical at the other end of the pitch.

He continued: "We started well, we got in front, but we didn't quite get to grips with their midfield shape, we were a bit too open. Possibly, I think they shaded it in the first half.

"We changed it around at half-time, we were pretty brave. We made two substitutions, we changed the shape to a three at the back and I thought we were excellent.

Ben Nelson is a great example. We've not had a 16-year-old playing at this level for a few years now and that was pleasing. And our goalkeeper (Jakub Stolarczyk) was excellent throughout again, he looks the part.

"We scored early and then we went on to totally dominate the game. We started to control the midfield, which we weren't doing in the first half and we looked solid at the back.

"I thought the five goals were excellent, by any standard. Layton's goal, the first one, was a terrific finish, then Adi (Admiral Muskwe) and two from Callum Wright, building on nicely from his last game when he was excellent.

"Jake Wakeling, a brilliant finish, to spin in that channel and finish from where he did, I thought he made a big difference working up front with Adi."
