Dewsbury-Hall Continues To Impress On Loan At Luton

On-loan midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall produced another Man of the Match performance for Luton Town in their goalless draw with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

- Six on-loan Foxes were in action for their respective clubs across the weekend's fixtures in the Football League and beyond
- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall helped Luton hold Bournemouth to a stalemate, while Josh Knight's Wycombe and Darnell Johnson's Wigan also drew
- Matty James and Sam Hughes tasted defeat, as did Kamal Sowah in Belgium and Filip Benković was unused for Cardiff

Dewsbury-Hall's Hatters held high-flying Bournemouth - who are looking for an immediate return to the Premier League after last season's relegation to the second tier - to a credible stalemate at Kenilworth Road.

The 22-year-old played 90 minutes at the heart of the midfield for Nathan Jones' side, who now sit 14th in the Sky Bet Championship table with 27 points from 20 games.

Town are nine points clear of the relegation zone and just six off the play-off spots, as they continue to improve during their second season back in the division.

Matty James, on a season-long loan at Barnsley, fends off Brentford's Ivan Toney during Saturday's clash at Oakwell.

Also in the Championship, Matty James started for Barnsley during their trip to Liberty Stadium, but could not prevent the Tykes going down 2-0 to Swansea City.

Replaced by Romal Palmer after 71 minutes, the midfielder has now made 12 league appearances in 2020/21 for the Yorkshire club, who lie 13th in the standings.

Staying in the division, Josh Knight helped Wycombe Wanderers to rescue a point at home to Queens Park Rangers, drawing 1-1 at Adams Park on Saturday.

The defender played the full game as substitute Anis Mehmeti produced an 88th-minute equaliser to cancel out a first-half own goal from Knight's centre-back partner, Jason McCarthy.

Josh Knight's Wycombe Wanderers are competing in the Championship for the first time.

The result leaves Gareth Ainsworth's outfit bottom of the Championship, level on points with 23rd-place Sheffield Wednesday and four points from safety.

Elsewhere, Filip Benković was an unused substitute in Cardiff City's 2-0 away defeat at the hands of Norwich City. The Bluebirds are currently four points outside the top six.

In Sky Bet League 1, centre-back Sam Hughes started Burton Albion's 3-1 home loss to Doncaster Rovers, but had to be replaced after 20 minutes of the clash at Pirelli Stadium.

Albion are bottom of the table, one place below Wigan Athletic, who grabbed a 90th-minute equaliser away to Fleetwood Town on Saturday afternoon.

Darnell Johnson started Wigan Athletic's 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town in League 1 on Saturday.

Foxes defender Darnell Johnson played 90 minutes for the Latics, who snatched a point thanks to Oliver Crankshaw's late goal.

Kamal Sowah started and played 90 minutes for Oud-Heverlee Leuven, who lost 2-1 at home to Mechelen on Sunday, while Daniel Iversen and Josh Eppiah were unused substitutes in the Jupiler Pro League clash.

Leuven, two goals down at half-time, did pull one back via Thomas Henry's 61st minute strike, though, but remain fourth in the table after a first defeat in five games.
