Following Saturday’s convincing 4-0 Emirates FA Cup Third Round victory at Stoke City, the Foxes will contest their 18th Premier League fixture of 2020/21 when Ralph Hasenhüttl’s well-drilled side visit Filbert Way.

The Saints saw their FA Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town postponed over the weekend, and therefore will have not played since their 4 January success over champions Liverpool, which came courtesy of Danny Ings’ fine lob after only two minutes.

Tielemans – who has played 29 times for club and country already this season – says his is expecting a thoroughly challenging clash with the Saints, who sit just three points behind City heading into Saturday night’s game.

“We’ve had a full week to prepare, so all the guys are really focused and ready to go again in the Premier League,” Tielemans told LCFC TV.

All four goals from City's impressive 4-0 FA Cup Third Round victory away at Stoke City.

"We know we have something to do, which is win, hopefully, especially at home. It’s going to be a tough game, really, and we’re all very focused to win the game.

“Our confidence is very high, but we’ve seen earlier in the season that every game is so different, and you have to be ready for every game, to go again every game to perform.

“So, it’s going to be a tough game for us against a really tough opponent, which is Southampton.”

At St. Mary’s Stadium last term, the Foxes recorded the Premier League’s biggest-ever away victory, however in the return fixture, at King Power Stadium, Southampton won 2-1 after Ings scored late on.

They play very good football, as I’ve mentioned, some aspects of their game makes them a very good team in general.

“They are very compact in their play and very organised,” Tielemans said of Saturday’s opponents. “They have a really good mentality, and some good players.

“It’s going to be a very good game to watch. They play very good football, as I’ve mentioned, some aspects of their game makes them a very good team in general. It’s going to be up to us to perform.”
