Five Foxes Feature As Dewsbury-Hall Strikes Again

A neat finish from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall headlined Leicester City’s weekend loan action as the talented young midfielder fired home the winner in Luton Town’s 1-0 victory at promotion hopefuls AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

- Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scores his second Luton Town goal to secure a 1-0 success at AFC Bournemouth
- Daniel Iversen made his Preston North End debut in a 2-0 defeat by Bristol City
- Kamal Sowah and Josh Eppiah both featured for OH Leuven over the weekend

Having netted the winning goal against Bristol City to open his Hatters account last month, Dewsbury-Hall – on loan until the end of 2020/21 – was on target for the second time in three outings when he turned inside the box, worked the ball onto his left foot and picked out the bottom corner at Vitality Stadium.

The win over 10-man Bournemouth, who saw Jefferson Lerma dismissed after just 26 minutes, moves Dewsbury-Hall’s adopted club up to 12th in the Championship standings with a trip to Brentford next up on Wednesday.

After joining Preston North End on loan earlier this month, Denmark youth international goalkeeper Daniel Iversen was handed his debut for the Deepdale outfit, but couldn’t prevent his new team from falling to a 2-0 loss at Bristol City on Saturday.

An early opener from Famara Diedhiou and Zak Vyner’s second-half effort handed the hosts the points at Ashton Gate, leaving Preston in 13th position in the Championship table after 24 games played.

Striker George Hirst, meanwhile, having made his Premier League debut for Leicester City in 2019/20 against Tottenham Hotspur, was unused from the bench in Rotherham United’s late 1-0 win at Pride Park over Derby County.

An 86th-minute winner from Jamie Lindsay was enough for the Millers to boost their survival hopes, with former City Development Squad goalkeeper Viktor Johansson keeping a clean sheet in the success in Derby.

The wideman is on a season-long loan at Beşiktaş, and has made 12 appearances so far in 2020/21.

In Belgium, the dynamic Kamal Sowah played from start to finish and youngster Josh Eppiah came off the bench as OH Leuven suffered a 3-1 Jupiler Pro League reverse at Stayen against St. Truiden on Sunday evening.

Thomas Henry did well to reply to Yuma Suzuki’s early opener, but after Pierre-Yves Ngawa was dismissed for Leuven, the hosts motored on as Ilombe Mboyo made it 2-1 before Suzuki scored his second of the game.

Having joined Leuven on loan last week, defender Filip Benković did not feature in the loss, while former Fox Andy King, who won the League 1, Championship and Premier League titles at Leicester, was unused from the bench.

Over in Turkey, Algeria international winger Rachid Ghezzal played over an hour for Beşiktaş in a 2-0 success over Galatasaray to move three points clear of Fenerbahçe at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig.

After Mbaye Diagne was sent off for the visiting side at Vodafone Park in İstanbul, goals from Josef de Souza and former Spurs attacker Georges-Kévin Nkoudou sealed three points for Ghezzal’s men.

Finally, Matty James, who joined Coventry City on loan until the end of 2020/21 last week, could make his bow for the Championship side on Tuesday evening, when they head to the Madejski Stadium to face Reading.

Elsewhere, Josh Knight and Admiral Muskwe's Wycombe Wanderers were not in action.
