- Leicester City secured a 2-0 victory over Chelsea at King Power Stadium on Tuesday
- Wilfred Ndidi and James Maddison found the net for the Foxes, who are now unbeaten in seven games
- Manager Brendan Rodgers highlighted the application of his players to match the Blues' aggression
- The Northern Irishman was also pleased to see City's training mentality reflected in the performance
While naturally pleased with the attacking exploits of his team, Rodgers was particularly appreciative of the desire on show from City, who stood up to the physical challenge to emerge as assured victors.
"It was a very good performance, playing against a really talented team, an outstanding team, but I thought the players were excellent," the Northern Irishman told LCFC TV at full-time.

"[They] showed, through all the lines of the pitch, a great quality and real good defensive organisation. It was a really tough game, but we came through it really well.
"In terms of result, it’s a very good result and performance level, off the back of a tough game at the weekend as well.

That victory places Leicester top of the Premier League after 19 matches and, although the Foxes may be replaced at the summit in the coming days, Rodgers views it as an indicator of their application.
"It means that we are playing well, consistently, so that’s nice," the 47-year-old continued. "We’re taking our training mentality into the games.
"I said at the beginning of the season that this is a team that just needs patience and they just need consistency. They’ve been showing that, but we’re not getting carried away.
"It’s fantastic, it’s a really good start for us, but there’s so much work to do now in the second part of the season, which we’re happy to do."
