- Leicester City head to Brentford in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round on Sunday (2:30pm GMT kick-off)
- The Foxes defeated the Bees 1-0 at the same stage of the competition last season
- Brendan Rodgers and Kelechi Iheanacho have previewed the clash over the last few days
- Brentford defender Mads Bech Sørensen and manager Thomas Frank also spoke in the media
The Foxes sealed safe passage to this stage courtesy of a 4-0 success over Stoke City earlier this month, while the Bees overcame Sky Bet Championship rivals Middlesbrough.
Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers expects a tough test for his side at Brentford Community Stadium.
Evaluating Brentford’s recent growth, Brendan Rodgers told the media on Friday: “I’ve enjoyed analysing how they’ve worked. We maybe don’t see them so much because we’re analysing our [Premier League] opposition, but they play fantastic football. They have a real trust in their game and how they play. They play their game from behind. Their positioning on the field is very, very good and they look to get numbers into the box to score goals.”
Former Brøndby manager Thomas Frank has been with Brentford since 2016 and took the top job in 2018.
Speaking this week, Bees manager Thomas Frank said: “We’re looking forward to the challenge against the team with Brendan Rodgers and his coaching staff who have done fantastic over the last two seasons. They’re doing another good job again this season, so it’ll be another interesting game. We saw last season that we could actually compete with Leicester so I’m sure we can do that on Sunday again, and we’ll give it a go.”
Kelechi Iheanacho spoke to LCFC TV earlier this week at LCFC Training Ground in Seagrave.
Striker Kelechi Iheanacho remembers his match-winning exploits at Brentford last season: “Of course, it’s a good memory. We won that game and we went through, and I scored. I have to mention that great pass from Dennis Praet. It was absolutely outstanding, that pass. That was the pass that brought the goal, and it was a great cross from JJ (James Justin) to pick me out, and I finished. It was a good game.”
Mads Bech Sørensen
Danish centre-back Mads Bech Sørensen has made 18 appearances in all competitions this term for Brentford.
Speaking to brentfordfc.com following the win over Luton Town, defender Mads Bech Sørensen said: “We were good on the ball, composed. The first 35 minutes were really good. The team performances have been really good, especially defensively. We’ve kept a lot of clean sheets and we haven’t conceded many goals. We put a lot of hours into that at the training ground so it’s good to see it works on the pitch.”
