The Foxes welcome Graham Potter’s outfit to King Power Stadium for a fifth round tie in the hope of building on their earlier cup wins at Stoke City and Brentford.

Thomas, 19, played from start to finish in the 3-1 success at Brentford Community Stadium late last month, and believes City have the quality to progress even further in the competition.

“As a team, we’re all really excited for the game,” Thomas told LCFC TV. “Obviously, it’s the fifth round, so if we can go on to win and get through to the quarter-finals, it’ll be the second year running where we’ve got there.

“We’re all really excited and we’re battling for a trophy. We all really want a trophy, and to win a competition, so if we keep going well, and keep hopefully winning games and give it our all out there on Wednesday, hopefully we’ll get through to the next round.

The England youth left-back scored his maiden goal for the Club in the 3-3 UEFA Europa League draw with SC Braga earlier this season.

“I feel like the team morale is really good at the minute. Everyone’s playing with such great confidence, and we all believe in each other to go out there and get the job done when they’re needed to be done.

“We’ll hopefully take that into the game on Wednesday and hopefully get through to the next round, and keep the battle for a trophy on.”

The talented Academy graduate will be aiming to make his 12th appearance of the season in all competitions on Wednesday night, and described the game as another chance for him to showcase his ability for his boyhood club.

“I’ve played plenty of games this season, and every time I get a game, it’s an opportunity for me to show what I can do and what I can give to the team,” he said. “Hopefully, I’ve proved that so far this season.

“We know it’s a Premier League team [that we’re facing], so any Premier League side is always going to be a challenge.

“Going into this game, we’ve got so much confidence and we’re playing such great football at the minute, we feel like we can beat anyone at the moment.

We have such a great motivation going into the game that we push ourselves to get the win and get through to the next round.

“We are aware of the quality that they have on the ball. They’re a very good team in possession, so we’ve looked at that, but hopefully we can go out there, play our own game and prove why we’re such a good team.”

While the FA Cup is a trophy that has evaded the Foxes during their 137-year existence, Thomas believes that gives his side increased desire while competing against sides from various ties of the English football pyramid.

“That’s what pushes us even more, knowing that the Club has never won the competition, and it’s such a great competition to be involved in,” he added.

“It then pushes us on, and we have such a great motivation going into the game that we push ourselves to get the win and get through to the next round.

“I think that’s what we’ve done for the first two rounds, and we’ve proven that we are such a good team. Hopefully we can do that again on Wednesday.”
