Brendan Rodgers’ side made it league away victory no.10 for the 2020/21 campaign on Saturday, when they bounced back from Adam Lallana’s early goal to beat Brighton & Hove Albion at AMEX Stadium.

Kelechi Iheanacho’s second strike in as many Premier League games was added to by Daniel Amartey’s last-gasp winner, as City took their points tally to 53 from 28 outings this term.

“It’s a very important win for us today,” Castagne told LCFC TV. “We didn’t start well, it was a very bad first half, but we showed character to come back and win this because it’s a very good side.

“Coming here is never easy, so we’re happy with the points, but we know we can do better. We just prepare well. It means also that we have to do better at home because we can’t only win away games. It’s something that we can work on, but yes, it’s good to win.

Goals: Brighton & Hove Albion 1 Leicester City 2

Kelechi Iheanacho and Daniel Amartey scored for City in their 2-1 Premier League success over the Seagulls at AMEX Stadium.

“We showed character. I thought we could do better against Burnley, and the same here in the first half, but the most important thing is the win and even if we have less players available because of injuries, it doesn’t matter.

“There are injuries everywhere, so you just have to deal with what you’ve got. There’s no excuses, so we did that today. We played with our heart and that’s what worked.”

Castagne was pleased with the way City got back into the game just after the hour mark, praising fellow Belgium international Youri Tielemans for his excellent no-look pass to assist Iheanacho for the equaliser.

“It’s a great ball, that’s the one we were looking for just after a good pressure, and giving that ball forward straight away is very important,” the full-back said. “Youri can do that, we all know it. It was a great ball and a great finish.

“The second ball came from a corner, so it’s not often we can say that, but today it saved us. It’s very good for him. I think he scored even on his knees! It’s crazy, but yes, he’s a very good guy and he deserves it.”
