Having taken a 2-0 lead into the closing stages of the first half at LCFC Training Ground, the visitors were right back in the contest when they pulled a goal back moments before the break.

Shade's introduction as a half-time substitute proved to be a catalyst for the Foxes' scintillating second-half performance which included five goals without reply to lift them out of the Premier League 2 Division 1 relegation zone.

"We're all very relieved," the midfielder admitted to LCFC TV after the final whistle. "We spoke at half-time, we were only up 2-1, and we said there’s goals to come from the game.

Goals: Leicester City U23s 7 Southampton U23s 1

All the goals from Seagrave as the Club's youngsters registered a 7-1 win over Southampton B in Premier League 2 Division 1.

"And so we went into the second half and all we were thinking about was just getting the balls in the box and going for it, which we did in the end. We knew goals were in the game for us. We said we had many chances in the first half and it's just about getting the ball in the right areas to finish."

Discussing his two strikes, both expertly tucked away, Shade praised the delivery from Sidnei Tavares for the third goal, as well as the finishing of fellow goalscorer Jake Wakeling, who grabbed a hat-trick in the rout.

He explained: "I just saw Sidnei [Tavares], he stepped in really well and put it over the top and then it bounced just perfectly and I struck it. Fortunately for me, it’s gone into the top corner! I do like the right-hand side, so when I cut in, I'm always looking to bend it in at the far post.

Shade: We Knew Goals Were In The Game For Us

Double goalscorer Tyrese Shade catches up with LCFC TV after the Development Squad's comprehensive win over Southampton.

"As a forward player myself, it makes the game so much easier with players getting in the box, making the right runs and, tonight, he (Jake Wakeling) took his goals really well, really good."

Securing victory over the Saints moved Leicester four points clear of the South Coast outfit with three games to play and Shade believes they will now go into next Monday's home fixture with Arsenal full of confidence, facing the team that sits one place above them in the current standings.

"We’re battling in every game," the 20-year-old added. "We’re looking to take three points, that's how it is at the moment now. Hopefully we can take three points from all the remaining fixtures.

"We've been saying a good result has been meaning to come and, tonight, we got the rub of the green and it paid off."
