City's 16th league win and subsequent trophy celebrations were a fitting end to a campaign which has seen them secure promotion to the Barclays FA Women's Super League for the very first time in the Club's history.

The goalkeeper's 10th shutout of the season, meanwhile, earned her a share of the Championship Golden Glove for the joint-most clean sheets in the division and Levell believes the group can all be very proud of what they have achieved across the year, both personally and as a team.

"I think first of all on the win, when we'd already beaten London City Lionesses and won the league, I think today we came out and we just wanted to play good football," she told LCFC TV.

"We wanted to enjoy ourselves and what a great occasion at King Power Stadium. We wanted to show that when the Club invest in us, we want to give back a good result. But based on the Golden Glove achievement, I'm really proud. I think my parents will be proud, I'm happy I came to this great club."

The 24-year-old also paid tribute to the players around her in helping to receive the Golden Glove award, which she believes is testament to the hard work shown across the pitch. The Foxes have also scored a league-high 54 goals this term, demonstrating the firepower within the squad.

The former Everton 'keeper reflected: "I'm also very proud of the back four for what they've done for me and helping me this season, as well as the team as a collective and I'm just really happy to have got that.

"Remi [Allen] and Barks (Sophie Barker) have been incredible for us this season and you need older heads in the team like that, always pushing us on and driving us, so I'm proud of them, too.

"I'm happy that we've all come together finally and we have showcased what we've got. Even our strikers, they were different level today and I think that Lachante [Paul], Tash [Flint], Shannon [O'Brien] and everyone that's come on has shown what potential they have."

Levell Proud Of LCFC Women's Achievements

Speaking to LCFC TV, goalkeeper Kirstie Levell reflects on a memorable season for LCFC Women after lifting the FA Women's Championship trophy at King Power Stadium.

The ever-present shot-stopper, who signed from the Toffees last summer, was replaced in the 81st-minute of the clash against the Addicks by Demi Lambourne, who has spent the majority of the season on the sidelines due to injury. And Levell was pleased to be able to share the special moment with a fellow 'keeper.

"I'm happy for Dem (Demi Lambourne)," she added. "She's been working really hard in training. Obviously there's a goalkeeper union, it's our job to keep everyone's heads in a good place and it is hard when you're not playing.

"I think we've all been in that position, I know what it feels like. I want to keep them motivated around me and they keep me motivated, so I'm really happy for any minutes that Soph (Sophie Harris) or Dem do get.

"You've got to look back at things like that and say to yourself that you made the right decision. And I think for me, I've definitely made the right decision coming here, so yes, it's happy days!"
