Adam has been chosen for his quick actions in saving the life of Bill Greaves, who suffered a heart attack at a walking football session before Christmas.

Bill was taking part in a session at St Margaret’s Pastures Sports Centre, and Adam was one of the first to respond as he started to administer CPR before using a defibrillator.

Bill was then rushed to Glenfield Hospital, where he would end up staying for 16 days due to contracting COVID-19 alongside his heart attack.

Adam will attend Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup Final at Wembley Stadium, and alongside Chelsea’s FA Cup Hero, will perform the traditional pre-match trophy walkout, while a video will be played on the big screens following Abide with Me.

My dad was a big Leicester fan as well and I know he’d have been really proud, so I really can’t thank people enough for this. It’s fantastic.

He said: “I was over the moon when I received a surprise video message from Emile Heskey saying I’d be walking the FA Cup out onto the pitch this weekend. I wasn’t expecting it at all, and it came as a complete shock to me. It’s just amazing and will be one of the best days of my life.

“It took me back so much when I got the message. My family will be so proud, and a lot of them live in Gibraltar so I know they’ll be watching on the TV! My dad was a big Leicester fan as well and I know he’d have been really proud, so I really can’t thank people enough for this. It’s fantastic.”

The FA welcomed nominations from all 737 participating clubs and the general public for inspirational stories of people who have gone above and beyond their duties in aid of the competition and their local communities amid the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The FA’s President, His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, will attend the final and lead out its traditional presentation party, which will also include Peter McCormick, The FA’s Chairman, Richard Jewsbury, Emirates’ UK Divisional Vice President, and Steve Curwood, Chairman of The FA Cup Challenge Committee. The Duke of Cambridge will be presented to both teams.
