Leicester City’s Development Squad will face Accrington Stanley, Barrow and Fleetwood Town in this season’s Papa John’s Trophy after the draw for the Group Stage was made on Thursday evening.

The Foxes were drawn in Group G of the Northern Section of the competition and are among 16 invited Under-21s teams that will compete against League One and League Two sides in the tournament.
City’s youngsters reached the Quarter-Finals in 2019/20, while they faced Tranmere Rovers in last season’s Round 3, where they were beaten 4-2 after facing senior sides Hull City, Harrogate Town and Grimsby Town in the Group Stages and Salford City in Round 2.
Fixtures for the 2021/22 Group Stage will take place in the week commencing 9 August, with full details to be confirmed in due course and Leicester City’s matches to be played away from home.
