Leicester City’s Development Squad defender Sam Hughes has joined League 1 side Burton Albion on loan, subject to Football League clearance.

The 24-year-old has been a regular for the Club’s Development Squad since his arrival in 2017 from Chester, where he was the team’s Player of the Season.
He has enjoyed loan spells at Salford City and Burton Albion while with the Foxes, scoring his first league goal for the Brewers against Charlton Athletic in November 2020.
Hughes will now continue his development with a second loan spell at the Pirelli Stadium with Burton Albion.
