McAteer Strikes In Narrow Seagulls Defeat

Kasey McAteer was on the scoresheet as Leicester City's Development Squad fell to a late 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion Under-23s on Friday.

City currently sit in ninth position in the PL2 table, on five points, while Leeds are flying high in fourth having lost just one of their opening six matches, though they have played a game more than the Foxes.

Despite Kasey McAteer’s 85th-minute equaliser, the Foxes were beaten 2-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion Under-23s at AMEX Elite Football Performance Centre last Friday and will be looking to bounce back from that defeat.

After full-time on the south coast, coach Ben Petty told LCFC TV: “They’ve got to keep believing in themselves. They are doing the right things, they are training really well, their performances are getting better, they’re improving.

“The team spirit is really encouraging. They need to stick together, they need to keep believing in what we’re trying to do. That’s the great advantage of being in the top league of the PL2. That’s something that we’ll strive to do, stay in this league and play against the best.”

Tickets are currently on general sale, with adults priced at £3 and under-18s at £1. Click HERE to purchase.
