City’s Development Squad got back to winning ways in Premier League 2 Division 1 courtesy of Tawanda Maswanhise’s goal on the hour mark, which was enough to seal three points on Filbert Way.

Shot-stopper Young missed the defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion Under-23s through injury but has otherwise been an ever-present across all formats so far this term and produced an excellent display on his return.

That led to former Foxes manager and LCFC TV’s co-commentator Micky Adams naming the goalkeeper as his Man of the Match, citing a string of important saves to keep the visiting side out.

“It was massive, especially the clean sheet,” Young told LCFC TV post-match. “It’s something we felt in the Everton game that we deserved, and we never got it. And then tonight, to get it here especially, it’s brilliant.

“They are a good side, and we knew that it would be a tough test. They are quick, powerful and they are at it 100 per cent. I’m happy to be there for us.

“I feel good. I picked up a little knock but then I’m back in and have fitted right back in. I've had a good week’s training and then I’m rolling again.”

The 19-year-old added that it was extra special to be able to secure the shut-out on his first appearance at King Power Stadium since joining the Club in the summer.

“That’s obviously what we train for every day of the week,” he continued. “That around the goal movement, but it was good and a nice feeling making some saves here tonight.

“It’s special, very special. It’s an unbelievable stadium. The facilities inside there are brilliant. It’s something I enjoyed and hopefully there’s many more to come in the future.

“It would be unreal if it was packed out and that’s something you want to strive to get to. It was a nice way to start here. It’s been very difference and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve enjoyed it, everything’s been a perfect fit really.”
