Ricardo Looking To Make More Leicester Memories

The Foxes defeated Stoke City, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester United, Southampton and Chelsea, in the final, to lift the Club's first-ever FA Cup last season. After overcoming Millwall in September, Brighton are next up in the Carabao Cup, at King Power Stadium on Wednesday.

Graham Potter's Seagulls have already come out on top against City in the Premier League this campaign, with the visitors having two goals disallowed at AMEX Stadium, and Ricardo is aware of the challenges they will pose on Filbert Way this week.

"It’s against a very good team," the Portugal international told LCFC TV. "They have started really well in the Premier League and, for sure, it will be difficult, but we’re playing at home. We have the opportunity to play in a quarter-final of the Carabao Cup with our fans. It’s a great game for sure.

"We started the [last game] well, but after 20 minutes, we started to drop in terms of performance. It was difficult when you go in at half-time losing. It’s difficult to come back into the game. It was a strange game, in terms of some decisions, but that’s in the past and we cannot make the same mistakes.

The Mood Is Great, Says Ricardo

Ricardo Pereira previews Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie against Brighton & Hove Albion after three consecutive victories for the Foxes.

"We want to start straight away, playing well, and having the ball, doing what we do. We did a good second half. We had some chances, we scored some goals, and that’s what we need to do tomorrow. Of course, we know we can do it, and we have to do it."

On the back of that FA Cup glory last term, Leicester are bidding to add further silverware this season and, after experiencing those highs at Wembley, Ricardo says the squad are eager for more.

"Of course, when you have the experience of winning, you want to win again," he added. "That joy, that happiness from everybody, you can see all the staff, all the players, all the Club, all the supporters… to see them happy, that’s priceless. We want to work to do it again and we have to start on Wednesday."

Leicester have won their last three matches in all competitions, climbing the standings both in the Premier League and in Group C of the UEFA Europa League. As they switch focus to the Carabao Cup, a competition the Club has won three times, Ricardo is determined to maintain that feel-good factor.

"The mood is great," the 28-year-old explained. "When you win, it’s always different. You have a different smile on your face and that’s what we want to keep now. We knew that we weren’t where we wanted to be with results and even performances.

"It was good, after the international break, to turn this a little bit. To do that with three important wins, it gives us confidence and even more strength for what is coming. We knew even before the [Brentford] game that it would be very difficult. We had to do the dirty work to win.

"We knew we would suffer. That’s what happened, but we ran, we fought, we worked and we did our best together. At the end, we won, we took the three points to Leicester, and that was the most important thing to finish the week.

"We want to keep this momentum. To keep winning. To keep climbing the Premier League and in the Europa League. That’s what you work for, to win, to be happy, to give that joy to everybody… the fans, us, our families too."
