We’re Both In Good Form, Says Barnes

Harvey Barnes expects Leicester City’s Premier League encounter with Arsenal to be a battle as two of the division’s in-form sides come face-to-face at King Power Stadium in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.

- The Foxes welcome Arsenal to King Power Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday (12:30pm BST kick-off)
- Barnes scored in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup Fourth Round clash with Brighton & Hove Albion

Buoyed by a string of positive results, Academy graduate Barnes – who opened the scoring in Wednesday’s shootout success against Brighton & Hove Albion – knows three points will further build on City’s positive aura.

The Foxes defeated Manchester United, Spartak Moscow and Brentford in the space of just nine days before advancing to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup by beating the Seagulls on penalties.

“We’ve said previously this week that confidence is going to be massive for us, and that momentum of winning [against Brighton], we’ve got four wins on the bounce now, we’ll be going into that game full of confidence,” the No.7 told LCFC TV. “For us, it’s another chance to get three points and get high up the table.

“We know it’s going to be a tough game. They’re on a good run of form and for us, we had a tough start but we’ve really come together as a team and hit a good run of form ourselves, so it’s going to be a battle, but the stadium will be bouncing, and for us, three points will be the main focus. Hopefully we can do that.

Barnes: Confidence Is Massive

Harvey Barnes speaks to LCFC TV to preview Saturday's Premier League visit of Arsenal.

“They’re getting back into their system of playing through the lines and creating a lot of chances, but we know if we stick together as a team and create the chances that we have done in the last few games, we’ll hopefully get the goals we have in the last few games.”

City will contest the second of three-straight home games on Saturday, and after travelling to Elland Road to face Leeds next weekend, a further three matches follow on home soil.

For Barnes, that adds further importance to Leicester’s record at King Power Stadium.

“It’s something that over the last few years, we’ve done really well – we’ve made it difficult to come here,” he said. “This season, not so much, we’ve had a few bad results but recently it’s been really good, so we’d like to think Arsenal won’t be coming here thinking it’s going to be an easy game. We’ll try and make sure we don’t make it easy for them.

“As players, we know how important they (the fans) are – when it’s going bad and when it’s going good. You need them on your side and they’ve been great so far this season, so long may that continue and hopefully we can keep entertaining them with goals and wins.”
