Supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign, Maddison donated the boots to Foxes Pride following City’s recent games against Watford and Southampton.

The 25-year-old found the net in both fixtures, scoring the opener at home to the Hornets before firing the equaliser in a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s Stadium last week.

All Premier League fixtures between 27 November and 2 December were dedicated to Rainbow Laces, with the initiative demonstrating ongoing commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ inclusion and making it clear that football is for everyone.

Graeme Smith, Chair of Foxes Pride, said: “As a group, we’re incredibly grateful and thankful for the support James has shown the Rainbow Laces campaign.

“The allyship of footballers, including James, is so important in demonstrating that football is a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community.”

Furthermore, members of Foxes Pride recently visited the LCFC Training Ground to meet Brendan Rodgers and some of City’s First Team stars to discuss their experiences and the challenges they’ve faced in a football setting.

The visit was also an opportunity for the group to present Jamie Vardy with the rainbow corner flag he signed for Foxes Pride after it broke following his celebration in a 2-1 win over Sheffield United in December 2020.

Foxes Pride work with Leicester City to tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in football, while promoting the welfare of the Club’s LGBTQ+ fans and ensuring King Power Stadium is a safe and welcoming place.
