Ademola Lookman's 59th-minute strike, assisted by Dewsbury-Hall, was the difference at King Power Stadium after Kasper Schmeichel's penalty save to deny Mo Salah in the first half. Heroic defending was needed late on from the Foxes, who played Manchester City on Boxing Day too.

Speaking to LCFC TV at full-time, following a morale-boosting success, Dewsbury-Hall discussed the context of the clash with Jürgen Klopp's Reds and paid tribute to the support given by the Blue Army on a memorable night on Filbert Way.

"The dressing room is over the moon," the 23-year-old said. "This week’s been such a tough week. You’ll struggle to find a harder week in world football, playing Liverpool twice and Man City.

Lookman's Strike Seals Memorable Liverpool Triumph

Ademola Lookman's second-half strike helped Leicester City to a 1-0 success over Liverpool.

"It’s just a momentous effort from everybody to regroup, dust ourselves down and go again, basically 48 hours after playing Man City. It’s such a rewarding win. Everyone’s so happy and there’s some tired legs in there but that’s what you have to do to beat teams like Liverpool.

"We know what Liverpool are going to bring. They’re a very attacking team and they’re very talented. It’s a great save by Kasper to keep it out and that lifted the crowd and they were great tonight because we need them, especially with quick turnarounds.

"They’re like our 12th man. They riled us up, kept us going, and we’re so buzzing we got the three points for them."

Dewsbury-Hall was also thrilled to play his role in the match-winning strike, weighting his pass perfectly for Lookman to race into the area and beat Alisson.

"I’ve got the ball, I’ve seen Ade made the run inside, and fair play to him, it’s a great finish," the Academy graduate continued. "He does that in training all the time. We practice little drills like that at the end, shooting drills, and I’m buzzing for him that it’s come off in such a big game.

Dewsbury-Hall: A Rewarding Win

Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall catches up with LCFC TV after impressing in Leicester City's 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Premier League.

"He deserves it, he’s a great lad and he works so hard, so fair play to him."

It's been a big few weeks for Dewsbury-Hall, who has battled his way into Leicester's XI, and the former Blackpool and Luton Town loanee is eager to keep his place.

"I reflect and I know I’ve come a long way," he added. "All those loans helped me out to bring me to where I am now and I knew eventually I’d get to this level because I believed in myself.

"I knew how hard I’ve worked, so it’s a great feeling to be able to test my wits against the players that you’d say are some of the best in the world. I believe I can be up there and hold my own and do more against them, so it’s a great feeling. I’m excited to keep doing it and hopefully there’s more in the future."
