Manager Lydia Bedford has revealed that LCFC Women have no fresh injury worries ahead of tackling Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

- Lydia Bedford gave an update on the squad’s condition ahead of the 2pm kick-off
- Forward Abbi Grant came through her first 90 minutes of the season in midweek
- Rotation against Manchester City has allowed several players to recover for the clash

The pair meet in the Barclays FA Women's Super League at King Power Stadium in a 2pm kick-off as the Foxes look to get back to winning ways following defeats to Reading and Manchester City, the latter coming in the Continental Tyres League Cup.

Summer signing Abbi Grant, who missed the first period of the campaign through an injury picked up in pre-season, made her long-awaited debut for the Club against the Royals.

Although she was forced off at half-time due to a dead leg, the Scotland forward recovered in time to make her home bow against the Citizens at Pirelli Stadium, playing 90 minutes for the first time this term.

Abbi Grant's home debut came at Pirelli Stadium on Wednesday.

“Abbi has trained fully since the game on Wednesday night,” the LCFC Women manager revealed in Friday’s virtual pre-match press conference with the media. “We had 11 vs. 11 in training this morning, so numbers are looking and feeling good at this moment in time.

“We have no fresh injuries off the back of Wednesday’s game or Sunday’s game, which is great.”

Attention shifts back to the Women’s Super League following that midweek fixture in the League Cup and the manager was pleased to report that everyone came through that clash unscathed.

Resting several of the first team squad allowed extra recovery time from the exertions of the weekend’s fixture and Bedford handed out five debuts, including three Academy graduates.

There is now potential for other players to be reintroduced into the matchday squad, with the Foxes without the likes of Jess Sigsworth and Natasha Flint for their trip to Select Car Leasing Stadium.

Everyone is fresh on the training pitch this morning, there’s no one that we’re managing ahead of the game.

“The big priority for Wednesday night was rotating,” the former England youth coach explained. “And I think we had seven rotations from the previous games and lots of debuts.

“The focus was opportunities for younger players and I was really proud of what they produced on the pitch, it was an excellent performance for their age and stage and where they are at.

“There were some really bright sparks in there and it allowed us to rest players and it means that everyone is fresh on the training pitch this morning, there’s no one that we’re managing ahead of the game.

“That was the focus and it’s given us exactly what we need, which is a platform of real strength going into the weekend.”
