A schedule that stretches across five days will see City’s stars lay further foundations ahead of the 2022/23 season. Many have been at work since 27 June, now into their third week of training, while others are fresh to the group after extended breaks due to international involvement.

Having last been in Évian-les-Bains in 2019, and Leicester now participating in their first pre-season abroad since then, the majority of the current squad will know well the challenges they are facing over the next few days.

The blistering French sun creates a tough environment for physical activity. Although the UK is to experience a summer heatwave while the Foxes are away, temperatures in Évian will exceed those back home, with some days forecasted to reach 33 degrees Celsius.

Away from the training pitches, the Club’s players and staff will benefit greatly from being in each other’s presence for a sustained and intense period of time.

On Tuesday, the first full day in the Rhones-Alps region, Brendan Rodgers’ men participated in their first double training session, put to work immediately on the shoreline of Lake Geneva as the countdown to City’s 2022/23 Premier League opener against Brentford draws closer.

Over the next three days, their work will gather pace, in preparation for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against OH Leuven at King Power at Den Dreef Stadion (1pm kick-off) – the Foxes’ second outing this summer.

A live stream of the match will be available to watch on LCFC TV via LCFC.com and YouTube from 12pm.
