Birch Hosts Annual Remembrance Service On Filbert Way

Leicester City supporters came together earlier this month to remember members of the Foxes family who are no longer with us at the Club's Annual Remembrance Service at King Power Stadium.

Led by Reverend Andrew Hulley, Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall and Club Historian John Hutchinson in the Remembrance Garden on Filbert Way, the service was last held in 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taking place during the recent UK heatwave, a large crowd gathered at the Remembrance Garden for the dignified, informal service. It was staged to remember those among the Foxes family who have passed away and to remember the moments we shared during their lives.

Speaking afterwards, the Birch said: "This is always such a special occasion for me and for Leicester City. I know we say it a lot, but we are a family at this club. It's been hard to comfort to people during difficult times over the past few years, so be able to do so at this service means a great deal to me.

"It's an honour to speak to the families about their loved ones and to help them cherish their memories as the years go by. Thank you, from everyone at Leicester City Football Club, to everyone who attended."

Supporters can access the Remembrance Garden, behind the West Stand at King Power Stadium, in daylight hours. If you have any questions regarding plaques, please contact the Club by calling 0344 815 5000 (option 4) or email help@lcfc.co.uk.
