Daka: We Are Looking Forward
- Leicester City host Manchester United at King Power Stadium on Thursday (8pm kick-off)
- Striker Patson Daka can't wait for the occasion as the Foxes search for three Premier League points
- The Zambia international also remembers his first-ever goal for the Club vs. Man Utd last year
The Red Devils are in town this week to tackle City in an 8pm kick-off at King Power Stadium on Thursday. A raucous home atmosphere will greet the two teams as the Blue Army looks to roar the Foxes onto their first Premier League three points of the new season.
It has undeniably been a frustrating start to 2022/23 for Leicester, who have one point from four games, and currently sit bottom of the table. For a side which has achieved so much over recent seasons, it's been a chastening experience for the Club's players, but Daka says they're intent on improving.
"It’s been not the start we hoped for or wanted," the Zambia international told LCFC TV. "It’s been a time where, every day, we’re getting better, developing, getting closer to what we want to achieve. I think, sometimes in life, it doesn’t go to plan, but how you react is what is more important.
"Every day’s another chance for us to make a better reaction. It’s been a disappointing start, but it has passed. We have to look forward and make, now, a better start for us this season."

Daka was an unused substitute for City at Chelsea on Saturday as the home side emerged as 2-1 winners despite being a man down for much of the clash. It was another game packed with frustrating flash points for Leicester, but Daka can see reasons for optimism in the performance.
"Luck just wasn’t on our side to be honest," the former RB Salzburg striker added. "We created some chances in that game. We just didn’t get the goals that we wanted. Sometimes it’s like that and it doesn’t go the way you want it to go at times.
"We can take a lot of positives from that game – the way we finished the second half was really, really good and we gave everything. It’s something we can build on into the next game."
City Win Filbert Way Classic
Watch all six goals from Leicester City's 4-2 victory over Manchester United at King Power Stadium last season.
Manchester United are opponents which always excite the Foxes faithful, not just because of the North West club's stature, but also City's recent record against them. Leicester are unbeaten in five games against the Red Devils, winning three. Daka scored his first goal for the Club in their last home win over them too.
"It's a very brilliant and amazing game," he explained. "It’s going to be a tough game. It’s always tough when you are against Manchester United. It’s also a game that you always look forward to as a player and it’s an amazing challenge. Everyone is looking forward to it.
"We are all ready and looking to get our first victory of this season. I believe we are going to do it. I would love for history to repeat itself (and to score against Man Utd) again. I am looking forward to the game.
"Those are the kind of moments which, as a player and as an individual, you look forward to in life. Hopefully it can happen again. The first goal is always special, no matter how many you score. The first is always there, you’re going to remember it, and it will always be there with me. It’s a great motivation."
