Foxes Youngsters Beaten By Brighton

Leicester City's Under-18s fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion Under-18s on Saturday.
More on this story...

In action for the first time since beating Fulham 2-1 on 17 September to record their first win of the 2022/23 campaign, the young Foxes travelled to the Amex Elite Football Performance Centre.

And the visitors started well on the south coast, taking the lead midway through the first half when Amani Richards found the net to continue his fine scoring form.

However, the Seagulls fought back in the second 45, drawing level courtesy of Remeiro Moulton's 52nd-minute equaliser.

And when Brighton were awarded a penalty 14 minutes later, it was Moulton who stepped up and converted, and it proved to be the winner.

Leicester midfielder Logan Briggs was then shown a second yellow card in stoppage time, though it mattered little to the result.

It leaves the Foxes 10th in U18 Premier League South, on four points from five games, ahead of meeting Crystal Palace at LCFC Training Ground in their next home league game on Saturday 22 October (11am BST kick-off).

City: Addai, Grist, Cook, McAlinney (Ali 63'), Javid (Joseph 77'), Ononaye, Lewis (Thomas 77'), Lindsay, Briggs, Richards, Evans Toure 51').

Goal: Richards 21'.
