City youngster's were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur on Friday evening, as they remain bottom of PL2 with 11 points, and eight from safety. Following the full-time result, defender Wormleighton shared his thoughts with LCFC TV.

"We never like losing," the full-back stated. "So it's a tough one to take, but we've got to start games better at the end of the day. We came out in the second half with a lot more fight, which is a positive, so hopefully we can take that into the next game.

We all believe that we're a good team and hopefully we can show that in the results to come.

"We had a lot of young players on the pitch, so to show that they can do it as well, it's a real positive for the team and the academy. But it was like two different performances tonight. So we've just got to try and get that from the off next game."

It was an improved second half performance from the Foxes, inspired by a 57th minute goal from the 19-year-old, who volleyed home a cross from Tawanda Maswanhise, and the youngster hopes that they can take confidence from the display towards the end of the game.

Wormleighton Scores Against Spurs

Joe Wormleighton's second half goal for City's Under-21s as they were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur.

He added: "We all believe that we're a good team and hopefully we can show that in the results to come. It was a good finish, not one that I'm not used to doing. But I'll take that, and I was happy to get on the scoresheet.

"There's so much for us to play for. I mean, we've got six or seven games left, so there's so much more we can improve and work on at the training pitch and take that into the games and hopefully get more positive results."
