- Silko Thomas and Tawanda Maswanhise scored at LCFC Training Ground
- Kenneth Aboh inspired a comeback for The Canaries
- Leicester next face Burnley in the Premier League Cup on Friday 15 September
After an opening day victory to Derby County, City’s Under-21s returned home to LCFC Training Ground for the first time since consecutive defeats on the road to Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers respectively.
Despite going 2-0 up at half-time, the young Foxes were beaten 3-2 by the Canaries and Petty was disappointed to not earn anything from the game.
“In the first half, we created some great chances, but so did Norwich,” he said in his post-match interview. “We knew it was a difficult scoreline at half-time and the next goal would be crucial.

Tawanda Maswanhise
Tawanda Maswanhise scored a first half goal in Seagrave.
“One or two things went against us with injury, and we had to bring one or two players off to look after them and unfortunately we couldn’t see the game out.
“I thought the front three forwards played really well, and we’ve got to look at the positives in the game but unfortunately we didn’t defend well enough to get over the line.”
The coach labelled defensive issues as City’s downfall in Seagrave, but after the initial frustration, was able to take away positives that the youngsters need to focus on to progress.
Tawanda Maswanhise netted a first-half goal in the defeat and Petty was keen to commend the forward's efforts.

'The Next Goal Of The Game Was Going To Be Big'
Coach Ben Petty speaks after the Development Squad fell to a 3-2 loss to Norwich City in Seagrave.
He continued: “It’s a tough scoreline, and it’s a tough one to take and the lads are hurting in the changing room, but we’ll always look at the positives and Amani [Richards] has been great the first few games of the season.
“I thought JT (Maswanhise) was excellent today. With performances like today, and the goal, I’m sure chances will come and it’s great to see, as he’s been excellent.
“We’re in three competitions this year, it’s a great focal point for the players to be in different competitions. After a great win in the first game of the season, it’s been tough, but we’ve got a couple of weeks to get back on the training ground and improve for the next one."
