It was a flying start to the season for the young Foxes who dispatched Deby County 2-1 on the opening day of the 2023/24 Premier League 2 campaign at LCFC Training Ground but have since gone on to record three consecutive defeats.
After losses on the road to Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers, City’s Under-21s were beaten 3-2 in Seagrave by the Canaries, who produced a second-half comeback through goals from Kenneth Aboh and Emmanuel Adegboyega.
Following a harsh defeat, Richards shared his thoughts, and believes that Leicester deserved more from the game, but must now work hard to put things right.

“It’s a very, very tough one to take,” the striker opened with. “We were very much in the game. I think it was there for the taking and we are very disappointed to go away losing that game.
“It's always good to look at what you've done in the game individually, but at the end of the day it's all about the result. So, it's a tough one to take for the boys and everyone's pretty upset about it right now in the changing room.”
Richards has come through the ranks at Leicester’s Academy, and enjoyed last year’s campaign with the Under-18s, scoring 12 goals across the season.

'Very Much A Tough One To Take'

Now with a chance to impress for the Under-21s, the forward has been proud with how he has been developing, but admits that it is a team game, and that the Foxes will work hard to get back to winning ways when they welcome Burnley to Seagrave for Premier League Cup action on Friday 15 September.
He continued: “I'm quite proud of the way things are going. I think I've still got a lot more to come and I've just got to keep helping the boys as much as I can and taking the chances I get.
“After the loss, it's just about going back to the drawing board. We've just got to get back together, keep working and then try and make it right.”
