Ward Features In Wales Victory
- Leicester City goalkeeper Danny Ward stars for Wales
- The Dragons were 4-0 winners over Gibraltar in a friendly on Wednesday
- It marks the start of an international break which could involve nine City players
The Leicester City goalkeeper was making his 35th appearance for the Dragons, playing at Wrexham AFC's Racecourse Ground to prepare for their UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier against Croatia on Sunday.
Ben Davies headed Wales in front before a double from Kieffer Moore and another by Nathan Broadhead gave Rob Page's home side a four-goal lead at the break. That's how it would remain, with Ward one of four players substituted at the interval.
It was the perfect preparation for the City shot-stopper and his international team-mates ahead of a match which could define their European Championship qualification campaign.
Although fourth in Group D, Wales currently are just three points behind leaders Croatia - who also have a game in hand. Zlatko Dalić's Croats are due at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday evening.
On Thursday, two more Foxes could feature, with Patson Daka (Zambia) and Yunus Akgün (Turkey) hoping to add to their cap tallies. Stay tuned to LCFC.com and @LCFC social media channels for more on the Club's internationals.
