Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa and Harvey Barnes both scored twice while on international duty, for Nigeria and the England Under-20s respectfully, on Thursday evening.

Musa took his tally to 13 on his 61st outing for the Super Eagles at Stade Municipal as they continued preparations for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign with a 3-0 friendly success over Togo.

Barnes, meanwhile, marked his full international debut with a brace during a 7-1 victory over Cuba in the Toulon Tournament. On Monday night, the 19-year-old was a late substitute as the young Lions defeated Angola.

But, as England beat Cuba to reach the semi-finals, Barnes was in the starting line-up and he impressed again with two strikes to help Neil Dewsnip’s side run out comfortable victors at Stade d'Honneur Marcel Roustan.

City defender Elliott Moore also came on with 22 minutes to play to continue his progress through the national ranks after last appearing for his country back in 2015 for the Under-18s squad in a 2-1 defeat by Russia.

Barnes, the Club’s Development Squad Player of the Season, gave England the lead on 19 minutes by applying a finish to a cross from David Brooks. His second, in the 45th minute, was converted well from close range.

Sheffield Wednesday's George Hirst bagged a hat-trick while Brooks, currently with Sheffield United, got on the scoresheet too. Chelsea's Martell Taylor-Crossdale then added a late penalty to complete the scoring.

Musa, on the other hand, opened Nigeria's account in just the third minute with a powerful drive. In the 17th minute, the 24-year-old was there again to get on the end of Alex Iwobi’s cross before going off at half-time.

Playing alongside City team-mate Wilfred Ndidi, who was eventually substituted as well on the hour-mark, Musa was a constant threat to Togo's goal. Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored Nigeria's third.
