Christian Fuchs wants Leicester City to thrive off their underdog status when they play the second leg of their UEFA Champions League Quarter-Final tie against Atlético Madrid.

The Foxes will be seeking to overturn a 1-0 first leg deficit when they on Tuesday evening.

The La Liga outfit have been superb in the knockout stages of Europe’s most prestigious club competition over the past few years, having reached the final in two of the last three seasons.

Fuchs believes for City to get to the quarter-finals is already a huge achievement for the Club, but they will give everything to advance to the last-four.

“I think Madrid [are favourites] given their history over the last couple of years of participating in the Champions League,” said Fuchs ahead of the game. “We’re here for the first time in our history.

We’re very focused on that for now so let’s see how the game ends.

“We’ll have a great atmosphere here and the stadium will be brilliant. I don’t think anybody wants to come here against Leicester. Nevertheless, we’re still the underdogs and we’ll still try to take our chance.

“It’s already a great achievement – Leicester City playing in the Premier League and the Champions League. Being in the quarter-finals as the last English team is also a great achievement and we’ll see how the game goes.

“We’re very focused on that for now so let’s see how the game ends. We always try to give everything.”

A sold-out Leicester City Stadium awaits the Foxes for the Atlético fixture and Fuchs is expecting something special from the vociferous from the Blue Army on Tuesday night.

“I think the atmosphere in that stadium is simply outstanding,” added the left back. “Our fans have proven in the last couple of games that they are our 12th man.

“They can carry us to wins and they carried us to the success against Sevilla. When I saw the stadium before, I know something special will happen tomorrow again. I’m fired up and looking forward to it.”
