Leicester Lose Out To Red Devils In Pre-Season
City are now just under two weeks away from commencing their 2024/25 Barclays Women's Super League campaign, and continued their preparation with a tough test against Man Utd away from home.
The friendly came as the first piece of action for the Foxes after their return from Australia, where they placed third in the Perth International Football Cup, beating West Ham United 5-2 at HBF Park, following a first round penalty shootout loss to Manchester City.
The Foxes' reverse to the Red Devils comes as their first defeat within 90 minutes in five games played; strikes from Melvine Malard and Leah Galton seeing off City's advances.
Despite the loss, the match will be beneficial testing for new Manager Amandine Miquel who will take charge of her first competitive game when Leicester make the trip to the Totally Wicked Stadium to face Liverpool in the WSL opener on Sunday 22 September (2pm kick-off).
