Ranieri: Everyone Must Be Ready
- The City boss says his side have recovered well after playing three times in eight days
- Ranieri is hopeful Wilfred Ndidi will be available for the fixture
Claudio Ranieri says those who feature in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie at Everton on Saturday must be ready to take their opportunity.
Despite Leicester City playing three times in eight days, Ranieri explained that his players have recovered well and are in good condition ahead of the trip to Merseyside.
Now, the City boss wants every member of his squad to be ready, as the Foxes aim to make it three games unbeaten in all competitions.
“It is important the players who are involved now showed their best to help the team go forward,” Ranieri said.
“This is my philosophy. I want to see everyone ready. Everybody involved in our project. That is it.
“Today they moved very well and made a good training session. They recover very well. No injury problems.
“[Danny] Drinkwater is alright but also he was ok on Monday. I chose to preserve him.”
Ranieri revealed that Wilfred Ndidi trained with the City squad on Thursday and is hopeful that he will be available for Saturday’s fixture.
Ranieri said: “I don’t know [if he will play]. Let me see him in training. Today was his first. He was okay. I want to see tomorrow and then I choose.
“He is a very impressive player with a great future. He is tall and jumps very well for the headers, moved the ball quickly and recovers the ball very well. We have followed him a lot and we hope he is a very quickly impress the fans.”
Meanwhile, striker Jamie Vardy is available for selection after serving his three-match suspension and could start, according to Ranieri.
He added: "It is very good and he is also very happy. He is in a good moment now and I hope we can restart as well as last season. I think he should start."
