Opposition View: Paul Clement
- Clement, much like the Leicester City camp, is not looking past the clash at the Liberty Stadium
- The Swans boss believes City’s form this term is proof of how tough it is to play in the Premier League
Paul Clement very much holds the same philosophy as Claudio Ranieri heading into Sunday’s Premier League trip to Swansea.
Both managers are not looking past , as the 16th-placed Foxes are entertained by Clement’s men.
Full of confidence following two victories in their last three Premier League outings, the former Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich assistant manager is aiming to make best use of his side’s home advantage.
Clement told the media ahead of the clash: “Is this the biggest game of the season? It’s the next game. All our games are very important.
“Leicester is our opponent – whether that’s another team, home or away, it’s still going to be important for us.
“The two teams are level on points and we won’t play each other again this season, so it does add a little extra spice to the fixture.
“Even though we didn’t get anything out of our last game, we go into this game still with a lot of confidence and belief that we’re heading in the right direction.
“We’re playing at home, which is a clear advantage for us. We need to make best use of that.”
Full of praise for City’s remarkable 2015/16 title win, Clement believes the Foxes’ difficulties this term are evidence of just how tough it is to play in the Premier League.
He added: “It was a big surprise last season as well and I watched that unfold very closely as many of us did.
“I enjoyed what a magical spectacle it was and they’ve had a difficult year. I think it shows how tough this league is.
“They’re still a very good team and we need to make sure they don’t start putting this right against us.”
