Premier League Primary Stars Receives LCFC Support

Staff from across Leicester City Football Club joined the Community Trust in showing their support for the Premier League Primary Stars – Inspired By Champions project this month.
These included Club Historian John Hutchinson, Head Groundsperson John Ledwidge and defender Christian Fuchs, who all gave their time as the initiative hopes to use the LCFC story to inspire youngsters to get active.
This involvement looked to highlight the important role ‘resilience’ played in Leicester City’s incredible march to the Premier League title in 2015/16 and in turn help the project deliver key messages in diversity, teamwork and anti-bullying.

Premier League Primary Stars will aim to develop skills and ambition both on and off the sports field with resources for girls and boys aged 5-11 years old.
Building on the great work already delivered by the Trust, the Premier League have been working with experts in different fields to design resources to get children learning and active.
There will be more schemes in addition to the likes of Premier League Primary Stars and Premier League Reading Stars, so that football and an array of other sports can be used to inspire girls and boys at a key stage in their lives.
Head of Premier League Communities, Nick Perchard, said: “As part of the new Premier League Primary Stars programme, it was great to have the opportunity to capture some insight into the incredible resilience and teamwork Leicester City demonstrated to become Premier League champions. Leicester City’s story is a perfect sporting example for teachers to use to inspire their young learners.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for primary schools across Leicestershire to be part of a nationally recognised programme, Our Premier League Primary Stars – Inspired by Champions programme will support all areas of curriculum in particular upskilling class teachers in the delivery of PE lessons for both KS1 and KS2."
