Marc Albrighton believes Leicester City must show the same spirit that helped them beat FC Copenhagen last month if they are to return from Denmark with a positive result.

Claudio Ranieri’s men head to the Parken Stadium on Wednesday evening looking to maintain their 100 per cent record in Group G of the UEFA Champions League.

The Foxes could secure their spot in the knockout stages of the prestigious competition with a victory in Copenhagen, and to do so, City must show their mettle, according to Albrighton.

The winger told LCFC TV: “We’ve been doing so well in the Champions League so it’s good to go into them games and have confidence knowing the game means so much because it’s such a big tournament.

“We’ll look forward to the game. We know it’s going to be tough because they gave us a good go at our place, but we’ll face it the same as we did the last tie and hopefully we can get another three points.

“I think we’ve got to fight and use the spirit that we’ve been showing in the previous weeks. Hopefully if we can do that then we won’t go far wrong.”

While victorious the last time City took on Copenhagen – a 1-0 win at King Power Stadium in October – Albrighton says Wednesday’s encounter will be a completely different challenge.

He added: “It’s just another game to us. I don’t think we can take too much from how we beat them at our place. We obviously did well to get the result but we’re playing in their back garden now and they don’t want to lose there.

“They’ll want to win so it’s a massive game for them. We’ve put ourselves in a position where we can go there and enjoy our football and hopefully come away with some points.

“With Copenhagen, they’ll be looking to go out and win the game so it’s going to be difficult, but we’re up for the fight.”
