Tom Lawrence Joins Leicester City From Manchester United

Leicester City Football Club can tonight confirm that an agreement has been reached with Manchester United for the permanent transfer of striker Tom Lawrence.

Tom completed a medical at the Club’s Belvoir Drive Training Facility on Monday evening and has signed a contract with the Foxes to June 2018.
The highly-rated 20-year-old forward is has been capped by Wales at Under-21 level and made his full debut for United in a 3-1 Barclays Premier League victory at home to Hull City in May.
After joining the Red Devils at the age of eight and progressing impressively through the club’s academy, the 2013/14 season proved to be a breakthrough one for the Wrexham-born youngster, including successful loan spells at Carlisle United and Yeovil Town.
After joining League 1 Carlisle on loan in November last year, Lawrence made his debut in a 3-1 defeat to Swindon Town, and soon caught the eye with a brilliant brace of goals in a 4-1 win at home to Tranmere Rovers two games later.
The striker made a total of 10 starts and one substitute appearance for Carlisle, before stepping up to Championship level with Yeovil Town in January 2014.
Lawrence helped the Glovers in their battle against relegation, picking up some vital experience in the process. He played 19 games in total during his spell at Huish Park, including 89 minutes of a memorable 1-1 draw with Leicester City at King Power Stadium in March.
Subject to his registration being confirmed by the Premier League, Tom could potentially be involved in the first team squad for City’s trip to Stoke City on Saturday 13 September.
